Therefore once you have earned an accredited accounting degree from a business school your career options will be wide open. This is of course assuming you earn a bachelors degree in accounting, a master’s degree, or an MBA.

If your interests do lead you to a more traditional career as an accountant, then once you obtain your bachelor or higher accredited accounting degree your job options will include working in public accounting firms (audit, tax, consulting), for the government, or for a traditional business working as a part of the accounting department, as an internal auditor, or as a managerial accountant.

If you are interesting in working in the field but do not want to earn a bachelors degree there are still many jobs available. For example all business that have an accounting department need clerks to perform certain jobs such as payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, etc which are all a part of that department. To perform in these types of jobs you will either get trained on the job or more than likely need to earn an associate degree in accounting, complete some type of certification program, or finish some form of a career training program.

In addition to earning a tradition BS degree in accounting, another popular choice now days is a degree in Accounting and Information Systems. The reason is that in addition to covering the business side it also covers the computer and information systems side, which are much related in today’s business environment. The demand for information systems programs as a part of the accounting curriculum continues to increase each year.
