According to the U.S. Census Bureau, as of August 2007, Maryland is considered the wealthiest state in the entire United States. Its average household income is $65,144. The state of Maryland is found on the Atlantic Coast in the Mid-Atlantic region of the U.S. The state has a history of being considered part of both the Northern and Southern parts of the U.S, since being a border state causes it to show characteristics of both regions. Maryland was the seventh state to approve the United States Constitution and has two official state names, the Old Line State and the Free State.

Career Ideas
Searching for ideas for an ideal career? Here are some careers to consider:

The job of an automotive service technician and mechanic has changed drastically in recent years. Most automobiles run on complex computers. Technicians and mechanics are now faced with technological advances and must be trained to work with these new systems. Basic responsibilities include inspection, repair, and maintenance of cars and light trucks that operate on gasoline.

Individuals who excel in math and finances would do well to consider bookkeeping, accounting, or auditing as a career. These jobs entail keeping financial records for a business or organization. An accounting manager typically supervises a bookkeeping, accounting, or auditing clerk.

Budget analyst positions are open to those individuals with at least a bachelor’s degree. Degrees in accounting, finance, or statistics are common. However, many companies prefer a candidate with a master’s degree.

Aeronautical drafters specialize in the aircraft field. They are responsible for drawing plans for aircraft, missiles, or other parts that are related to the industry. The aeronautical drafter will be required to have knowledge in this industry so he is able to draw specific parts for manufacturing.

A large number of vocational schools, community colleges, and e-distance learning colleges offer programs in medical transcription. A one-year certification program or a two-year associate degree program is available.
