Chemical engineers are not limited to work in this field only. Most businesses allow some flexibility when hiring and will accept any engineering degree. Many individuals go on to earn a master’s degree or a PhD.
Many service technicians and mechanics specialize in a field. Larger automotive repair shops use an assembly line approach. Each specialized mechanic focuses work on his area. Some examples of specialists are transmission technicians and rebuilders, tune-up technicians, automotive air-conditioning repairers, front-end mechanics, and brake repairers.
Technical, vocational, and community colleges offer programs in medical assistance. Most employers prefer a new hire to have a degree or certificate from one of these programs.
Pharmacy technicians commonly receive on-the-job training. However, employers are beginning to favor candidates with formal training or certification. Vocational or technical schools, community colleges, and some hospitals offer formal training programs.
