Career Ideas
Searching for ideas for an ideal career? Here are some careers to consider:

Automotive body and related repairers are required to have formal training in automotive repair. Many high schools, vocational schools, community colleges, and trade schools offer automotive repair programs. Once hired, employees receive extensive on-the-job training. Many also attend manufacturer sponsored training courses. Due to constant technological advances, continuing education is necessary for all repairers.

Correctional officers who are employed by police and sheriffs’ departments are also referred to as detention officers.

An associate’s degree is required for most health information technician positions. Coursework in medical terminology, anatomy, biology, chemistry, or coding is also beneficial and viewed as a strength by hiring managers.

Pharmacy technicians commonly receive on-the-job training. However, employers are beginning to favor candidates with formal training or certification. Vocational or technical schools, community colleges, and some hospitals offer formal training programs.

All nurses must graduate from an approved nursing school program and obtain a passing score on the national licensure exam. Periodic license renewal is required in all states. Three options are available to nursing candidates. Colleges offer a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN). Community and junior colleges offer 2-year programs that result in an Associate degree in Nursing (ADN).
